“The idea of creating the busts was based on the emotional connection between a man and a horse, which has passed through many generations and grew into love… The wood gives warmth to the sculpture, helps our imagination to think out the image, look for new meanings and emotions in it.”
The works are made of floating wood - this is wood that was thrown onto the shore of the sea, lake or river under the influence of winds, tides and waves. During its navigation, wood, under the influence of water, wind and sun, acquires a peculiar texture, color and, often, smoothed turned edges.
“Each bust of a horse consists of 12-15 parts. For the author, as a sculptor, one or two set the image of a horse, the rest help to get in shape.”
The pedestals are made of larch, about 250 years old.
