About exhibition:

Concept: The series "Memories of Hellas" - a new direction in the work of Tatyana Ipatenko, first presented at the exhibition. The turn to the side of antiquity took place unexpectedly. In the process of working on the project, we looked through her work. These were sketches from nature, made in the studio. The look fell on the graphic sheet, which stood out very much among others, it was a message of another civilization. Such a sheet, it might have seemed, could be brought from a trip to Ancient Greece or as it was called by the ancient Greeks of Hellas. How could a modern girl be transformed into an artist's sheet in the bark * ?! This thought gave no peace. Then there was a miracle that always accompanies real creativity. The author seemed to have got to that point of the noosphere, where the images lived, which seemed to be waiting for the artist who would materialize them visually. Maidens appeared on canvases - bark, young men - kuros. Freely interpreted by the artist, they turned into Earthlings with a capital letter. Each hero - depicted with a minimum of details against the background of a local spot of a certain color, turns into a crown of creation against the background of the cosmos, with its abyss, infinity.

* Bark is the ancient Greek female equivalent of the Kuros. In Hellas depicted with memorial purposes. It is always dressed (unlike the kuros), smiling young women standing at full height, usually with a left foot slightly forward.
* Kuros are an Old Hellenic type of a young man of the archaic period (660 BC - 480 BC). The synonym is "archaic Apollo". The statues of the Kuros had a memorial-cult significance in Hellas.
