The Evolution of Beauty project continues the large-scale exposition of the FASHION ILLUSTRATION TAKES THE SPOTLIGHT exhibition organized by POP UP MUSEUM in cooperation with Nikolskaya Gallery and The Ostrich Gallery. The exhibition presents a collection of contemporary fashion illustration, which includes the work of well-known and established authors, as well as the work of young, but gifted and promising artists.
The exhibition focuses on the diversity of artistic techniques and styles of fashion illustration in Russia. Each illustrator presented in the exposition has a recognizable author's style. Here you can find work done in impeccable minimalism, as well as in a sensual, provocative manner. Exhibitors produce materials from watercolors and acrylics for ink and designer markers, which make it possible to convey the dynamics of the drawing with an emphasis on the semantic details of the image. The project introduces the bright, bold and relevant works of contemporary artists and attracts them to the wonderful world of fashion and beauty.
The legacy of a fashionable collection of stunning graphics designed for print media, lookbooks and ad dependencies. Until the 30s of the last century, it occupied a leading role in communication between a model or brand and the general public, gradually turning into an independent art. Covers for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar were drawn by iconic fashion illustrators such as Georges Lepap and Erte, as well as the most famous artists of their time - Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau and others. 60s, but today we have reduced oil exports.
Fashion development, oversaturated with creative photo formats, often collaborates with artists and prefers images with a special handwriting of the author; art is closely intertwined with fashion. The name of the project "FASHION PROJECT ILLUSTRATION" is inspired by the revival of interest in this genre. The exhibition opens to the viewer a voluminous field of ideas and a high interpretation of the design in the style of fashion, which awaken the imagination and saturate the space with changed extraordinary colors. "The Evolution of Beauty" is a new chapter of the project, which includes the accents of the aesthetic perception of the body, fashion and beauty in the culture of different eras through the genre of fashion demonstration.
